Overview and scope

MarketEcho AI (the “Service”) includes our public website at marketechoai.com (the “Website”) and the MarketEcho AI Chrome Extension available through the Chrome Web Store (the “Extension”). This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. If you use the Extension or Website, you agree to this policy.

What we collect

Account and authentication

• Account details you provide, such as your email address, and optional profile information supplied by Google when you choose Google sign-in, such as name, email, and profile photo.
• Authentication tokens generated by Firebase Authentication. Limited state such as sign-in status and user information may be stored locally in your browser or Extension to keep you signed in.

Content you choose to analyze

• Webpage text and metadata from the active tab when you initiate analysis.
• PDFs and documents you open in the browser or upload for analysis.
• Media you submit for transcription or summarization, such as YouTube captions or text and audio you upload.

We process this content to produce the summaries, comparisons, and related outputs you request. We do not sell this content and do not use it for advertising.

Technical, device, and usage information

• Device fingerprint: a pseudonymous identifier generated by the Extension for fraud and abuse prevention, rate limiting, and quota enforcement. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
• Diagnostics and usage: feature interactions, errors, performance metrics, and request timing used to maintain and improve the Service.
• Downloads: when you request an export, the Chrome downloads permission writes the file locally. We do not download files in the background.

How we collect data

• User-initiated access: the Extension requests host access so on-demand analysis works across websites and PDFs. We do not auto-crawl or collect page content in the background. Content is accessed when you interact with the Extension.
• Active-tab context: when you request analysis, the Extension reads the active page, including relevant same-page frames, to gather the content needed for that request.
• Uploads and URLs: when you upload a file or provide a URL, we process the content you submit to deliver the selected feature.

How we use data

• Provide core features such as summarization, thesis analysis, comparison, source history, and exports you request.
• Authenticate you, maintain your session, and enforce free or paid usage limits.
• Secure the Service and prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse, including through pseudonymous device fingerprinting.
• Operate, maintain, and improve performance and reliability.
• Provide support and communicate important service updates.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We share limited data with service providers as needed to operate the Service:

• Identity and authentication: Google Firebase Authentication.
• Backend processing: our APIs and cloud infrastructure, including Google Cloud services, to process content, apply quotas, and produce outputs.
• Email delivery: a transactional email provider for account and service messages.
• Local libraries: libraries such as PDF.js run within your browser. An open-source fingerprinting library creates a pseudonymous identifier locally; it is not shared with advertising providers.

We may disclose information when required by law, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service.

Data retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active and as needed for legal and compliance requirements.
• Content you submit is retained only as needed to provide the requested feature. Some features keep tab-, source-, or project-scoped history so you can revisit outputs; where available, you can clear that history from the Extension.
• Diagnostics and security data is retained for a limited period to maintain security, detect abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

Your choices and controls

• Chrome site access: you can restrict site access in Chrome’s extension settings, including “On specific sites” or “On click.” Restricting access may require re-authorization when you use the Extension.
• Clear history: use available history controls in the Extension to remove recent source or project outputs.
• Access, correction, and deletion: contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of account data. Removing the Extension causes Chrome to delete its local extension storage.
• Email preferences: you may opt out of non-essential messages. Service and transactional messages may still be sent.

Security and international processing

We use safeguards designed to protect data, including TLS transport encryption and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect the Service.

Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. We take steps intended to provide appropriate protections for international transfers.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required for material changes.
